About Sadaf

 

Sadaf Shah, an alumna of Kinnaird with a Masters in Business Administration from Punjab University, has worked in philanthropy since 2001, in her capacity as General Secretary of RESCUE a registered NGO, she is responsible for the creation and oversight of policy and program development plus initiatives that are focusing on the improvement of the emotional, mental, and physical health of disadvantaged children and the elderly.

She also serves on the board of the International Commission on Workforce Development a US based 501c3 Non-Profit Foundation and UN-GAID flagship initiative advancing 21^st century employability skills to the masses in underdeveloped G77 countries.

 

Through financial backing from her husband, her own family and friends, Sadaf, after the 2005 major earthquake and the recent devastating floods, is continuing to help critically and  physically challenged and at-risk children and their families by providing support and housing for them.

 

“Reaching out to others in need  gives me a great sense of peace and, consequently makes  a more effective human being.”

 

Not just satisfied with “donating money” Sadaf has taken a dozen mission trips through the years to impoverished areas all over the Northern areas of Pakistan. On her most recent mission to a village near Nowshera, Sadaf said she saw something amazing in the midst of the impoverished, flood-stricken region.

 

“These people have nothing, but yet, everywhere we went, these people had smiles on their faces,” “They were just happy to see us!”

 

For Sadaf, it all fits with her personal philosophy. “You don’t have to go to Africa. It can be something really small, so just fast forward a smile ” she said. “The point is to reach out and“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one.”

Do something for somebody else. There’s a mutual benefit. You’re helping another person, and I believe that makes you happier as a person, a mom, a friend and a person.”

 

As a recognized leading authority on natural food and their healing powers Sadaf is a sought after media contact and is quoted and profiled widely in print, and on television nationally. She is the author of “Qudrat ka Dawakhana” ( Naturopathy) and has also writes poetry. Her published works in that domain is called “butterfly’s secrets” (titly) a composition of English and Urdu poetry that touches the soul.

 

On the professional level, she is a director at Hotel Liberty, Director Strategic Alliances of Activa Financial Ltd. a mobile payments company. A high achiever, she has received the honor of receiving the Top Recruiter, Top Sales person, Top Manager and the Best and highest Sales achievement award in the history of Time Life International a Time Warner Aol company in last twenty years to date in their Asia Pacific Region. She has also received the Shirin Khairulla Award for being nominated the Country Star of Time Life Pakistan.

 

A humanitarian with unlimited compassion, a fulltime care giver to 3 kids, a husband, 6 cats and two dogs, she finds time to launch mega projects, coordinate events in a number of countries and still manage time for charitable and social work!
