The top ten worst questions commonly asked from someone with a chronic illness

So here it goes 🙂

1)Have you tried holistic options? (many. I’ll bring it back up with my doctor on my next visit, thanks.)
2) Could it be your stress? (My opinion is, it is my illness. I’ll bring it up with my doctor though, thanks.)
3) Could it have to do with the altitude? (I’ll bring it up with my doctor…thanks.)
4) I read in {insert any generic magazine here} about a new medication. Have you heard about it? (I was on it when it came out 17 years ago. but I’ll bring it up with my doctor. thank you.)
5) Have you thought about being in a trial study? (I’ll ask my doctor. thanks?)
6) WOW. If I were you, I don’t know what I would do. I might just kill myself. (Thanks?)
7) Have they found what is causing the problem? (no. my doctor is an idiot. I’ll remind him, thanks!)
8) Have you tried hypnosis? (I’m still sick, but when the phone rings I bark like a dog.)
9) Have you googled your illness? (….no! thanks!)
10) Have you ever thought you were getting sick because the aliens or magicians have been bugging people for years and in some cases, making people really sick.

Well these are a few out of many absurd suggestion and questions that  the people suffering from chronic illnesses have to come across but instead of taking them negatively my stance is that people give all of these suggestions only because they care. I don’t feel that complaining about people making these suggestions is appropriate or nice.

While i KNOW it’s not easy f to deal with an illness, it’s not easy for your loved ones either. However harsh this sounds, the reality is, it’s NOT all about you. They’re just trying to help. Be grateful you have such caring people in your life who are trying to help you, and not counting down the days until the illness wins.

The Road Not Taken

A poem by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Good quotes

1. There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.

2. The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love someone else.

3. The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it. Sometimes love blinds us, other times it let’s us see.

4. We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

5. When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our soul.

6. If we deny love that is given to us, if we refuse to give love because we fear pain or loss, then our lives will be empty, our loss greater.

7.The mind cannot long act the role of the heart.

8.Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

9. Science is the search for truth – it is not a game in which one tries to beat his opponent or to do harm to others.

Agha jee

Zindagi mein jo shumein theen who to ub tak bujh chukeen

Jo deeya timtima rahein hein unko haath rukh ke rok lo

Zindagi se jub yeh roshni uth jaaye gi….

Na to phir tum raho ge aur na hi mein dekh paon gi.

Yeh jo diye hein aaj timtimatay hoay

Yehi hein meray rah guzar, meray hum nasheen meray rahbar…

Yeh jo chorr jaen ge saath mera…

To kon ho ga mera aasra….

Mein jo gum gaee iss bheer mein…

To kaun batay ga mujhay sahi raasta?

Jo baap se bhi ziyada azeez ho….

Jo ghamon mein sub se qareeb ho…

Jo meray dukhon mein shareek ho

Usay kaun kaisay bhulaay ga

Kiya mujhay bhi koi sikhaye ga?

Koi thak ke ghar mein jab aaye ga…

To utnay pyaar se kaandhay kaun dabaye gaa????

Aaj bohat thuk gaeen hoon agha jee….

Aaj to kaandhay daba hi dein…

Susti si ho gayee hai kuchh..

Only five minutes more suna hi dein…

Just once more pleaseeeee!!!!!

Nine commandments to follow in life all the time:

                            Let’s Communicate with God

1. Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a “steering wheel” that directs the right path throughout.

2. So a Car’s WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.

3. Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4. All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don’t worry, they can’t last long either.

5. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, “Relax, sweetheart, it’s just a bend, not the end!

6.  When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn’t solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

7. A blind person asked St. Anthony: “Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision!”

8. When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

9. WORRYING does not take away tomorrow’s TROUBLES, it takes away today’s PEACE.

My Friends IDEAS leads to VISION… that to a MISSION and that to SUCCESS!

Ghazala & Mohsin ke naam!

A marriage ended after 22 too short years. My darling friend who was just like a sister Ghazala left us for a better place at just 41 years of age. so unpredictable and tragic. Cancer is a silent killer.

Her husband my dear friend and brother Mohsin is left behind to face this world and what it has to offer with the support of just his family and some friends.

Nothing can fill the gap that his beloved , wife and friend Ghazala left. This poem; written in Roman Urdu; is dedicated to them.

” The most loving, compassionate and caring couple,

I ever came across in my entire life.”

Kab Yaad Main Tera Saath Nahin

Kab Haath Main Tera Haath Nahin,

Shukar hai Ke Apni Raaton Main

Ab Hijr Ki Koi Raat Nahin..

Jis shaan se koi qabar mein utray

                                                          Wo Shaan Salamat Rehti Hai,

Ye Jaan To Aani Jani Hai

Is Jaan Ki  Koi Baat Nahin..

Maidan-e-Wafa Darbar Nahin

Yahaan Naam-o-Nasab Ki Pooch Kahan,

Aashiq To Kisi Ka Naam Nahin

Aur Ishq Kisi Ki Zaat Nahin..

Ye Baazi Ishq Ki Baazi Hai

Jo Chaho Laga Do Dar Kaisa,

Jo Jeet Gaye To Kya Kehnay

Haaray Bhi to Bazi Maat Nahin…..

Together with her family; in spirit; FOREVER

” May your Love live till eternity”.

Rishta ( an Urdu poem)

Wrote this poem a few years back thought I would share it with my friends on this blog.

Teri nazron se gir kur na uth sakti kabhi

teri banhon ka sahara gar na milta mujhay

Teray dil se utar ke wapis jagah bana na pati kabhi

teray qurb ka kinara gar na milta mujhay

Sub naatay sub bandhan toot jaatay jabhi

Ehsaas-e.beyaqeeni jub ho geya tha mujhay Ho jaata jo gar kuch hamein….

Bus ik aas thi jo na chorr paye kabhi

keh tu dhoond laye ga andheron se bhi mujhay

Kiyon keh naumeed hona aata nahin mujhay

Aaj hum phir ik jaan hein

hum jo rishtay torr bethay thay sabhi

Phir us ne jorr di hai kurri se kurri

jis pe yaqeen hum nay chorra hi nahin

Phir Yakja kur diya us nay tujhay aur mujhay

Alehda honay ke liye to yaqeenan Hum aur tum kabhi banay thay hi nahin.
